Friday Evening Candle or Candles in the Home
[In accordance with Rabbi Moshe Weiner, AskNoah.org]
On Friday after sundown, one or more members of
The home may light one or more candles on the
dinner table, to beautify the family’s evening meal.
This may be delegated to the Women and girls of
the home. The following prayers may be said after lighting
The candles.
(Walmart has Shabbat Candles)
May it be Your will, L-rd our G-d, that the light
Of Your commandments will enlighten the whole
World, that all who come into the world will unite
With their part in Your Torah, and that Your Temple
Be rebuilt soon in our time, so that we may serve
You there reverently.
May it be Your will, L-rd our G-d, Creator of
The Universe and G-d of all humanity, that You
Show favor to all Your servants, and in particular to
Me and my family, and that You grant us long life in
Service to You, that You remember us with
Beneficent remembrance and blessing, that You
Consider us with a consideration of salvation and
Compassion, that You bless us with great blessing,
That You make our household complete, and that
You cause Your Presence to enlighten us.
May it be Your will, L-rd our G-d, to privilege
Us to raise children and grandchildren who are wise
And understanding, who love and fear You, that they
May grow up to be people of truth who are attached
To You, that they may illuminate the world with
Good and righteous deeds, and that their labors be
In service of You, G-d, creator of the universe.
Please hear our supplications at this time, and let
Your kind attention shine upon us.
[As Noahides we do not observe Shabbat, But we
Can light a candle and have a Friday evening family
Dinner, In remembrance or tribute to
the Jewish Shabbat Day]
